Happy Birthday to Me!

Alright, so maybe my birthday was almost a month ago, but today I finally got my big birthday present....a new Omega VRT350 HD slow juicer! And this thing is bomb(.com) If you have never seen it in action, check out the video of the Hurom Slow Juicer, which is the same exact juicer except the Omega has a much longer warranty. After studying it out for a while, I figured Omega was the best way to go.

I am so excited to use it on a daily basis and to be able to post some of my new juicing recipes on here. There are so many advantages of using this juicer compared to your typical fast juicers like the Jack La Lane and such. Let me know if you have any other juicers that you like to use!

    1. Thanks Luci! I just figure that we only live once and we might as well put the best fuel into our bodies. I feel 100x better when I am eating healthy and my hope is that I will inspire others so that they can feel this great too!

  2. Hi. My name is Tiffinei. I came across your blog while searching for alternative ways to reduce my blood sugars, cut carbs and cut my insulin intake. As of right now, my A1C is around 10. I take medicine for ADHD and panic disorder. I am wanting to come off all the medicine (minus the insulin that of course keeps me alive). I dont know where to begin? I find encouragement in the fact that you have accomplished something that I want to...getting to the point in your life where you not only feel healthy BUT are healthy! I have been a type 1 diabetic for 20 years. I have controlled it to the best of my abilities but as I get older, it is becoming harder. I see juicing as a way to achieve all these goals I have. I have so many questions I would love to ask you. Would you mind emailing me at lynheart22@yahoo.com. Thank you for your encouraging blogs! :)

  3. Hi Chris,
Found your site earlier this year by accident and really enjoy hearing the great juices you are sharing. Congratulations on the way you are conquering your diabetes. Good job. I was only recently diagnosed with prediabetes and then Type2 when my blood sugar went over 150 once. I've managed to keep it between 95 and 115 by watching the carbs and juicing. I'm glad to see you the VitaMixer because that is my favorite. I had one of the regular juice extracters, but stopped using it when I read up on the extreme importance of fiber which I was throwing away. Excuse my being so blunt, but the juice from the extracters without the fiber can cause diarrhea when taken in large quantities and this in itself can cause dehydration. By using the VitaMixer and ingesting the fiber, everything stays normal. I am not familiar with your new juicer, but Happy Birthday. Another thing I do is buy organic produce as much as possible and that is hard to do in bulk like at Costco. I think that juicing nonorganic produce just concentrates the harmful things into the juice. I usually wash well and steam the vegetables that I can't find organic and eat them. This gets rid of some of the pesticides on them. I don't do this very often and never root vegetables. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading your posts again soon.
I'm vegetarian, but I do eat eggs and an occasional piece of cheese.
